Look! It's a blog!

So here it is, in all its lack of glory. And that's about it.

Nice! Urrgghhh! I so wanted to beat you in getting a picture posted.

That JuicyFruiter guy gets around. He's posted stuff on other blogs I've seen too. I actually went to his site.

Wonder how many comments I can leave on your blog before you ever notice. I wonder how long it's been since you've been on here last. I'm betting a very looooong time.

It is now 5pm on April 2nd, 2006.

I'm so ready for a vacation. A looong vacation. We're in the middle of about 4 different projects, all of which I'm supposed to "own," but no one will let me do anything. We're stuck between our boss, and the tech guy. Good times...I really do wonder if you'll ever check this.

Man, how about that deal! I could've gotten a true BS degree in just two weeks!

Gay and I just stole a bag of cookies from the "secret" stash in the kitchen. We've been stealing from this particular bag for quite some time now. We actually got hooked because our boss was eating out of it and brought us some. So technically HE started it. Anyways, we're down to the bottom third of the bag, and you really don't want to leave just a few in there...so we decided just to take the whole thing. We hid it in a drawar by our desks. Brilliant!

Flamingos make me happy. Or is it "flamingoes." That doesn't look right, I bet you just add an "s," not like "potatoes or tomatoes." Anyways, I should've added this to my previous comment, but after I posted it, I was looking at my flamingo and thinking how cool they were. They're pink, and have long legs, and are just plain fun. They even have a cool name! Maybe they got their name because someone thought they looked like fire. You know, "Flaming." And someone walked by and said, "Oh!! Flaming birds!" Well, it would be lame to name something "O'Flaming," unless you were Irish, and these people clearly were not, so they decided to put the 'O' at the end. Hence -Flamingos. And there you have it.

Ah, blessed Thursday. For some reason, I like Thursdays. It always feels exciting, but I think that's leftover from having RealLife on Thursdays, and all the fun that entailed. Either that or it's bar night. Hm.

I've been called "Jen-Chong" today because I have chopsticks in my hair. So far, four people have commented. That's me! Adding a little spice to the White-Collar world. Whatever happened to the Spice Girls anyway? I must admit I liked a few of their songs. They were good, and British. John Wayne was tall.

Greetings! Happy 4th of July to you, a day late. We went to the Royals game last night, which turned out to be a winner as they pulled the 7-2 win over the Twins. It was a really good game and my boy Stairs was DH, so you can't go wrong there. DeJesus hit a sweet homerun in right field.

It's Wednesday. Sort of like a Monday, with a twist since we were off Mon/Tues. Gotta love that! Ima go get some food for my pops and I.

As you were.

Ah, here we are at the close of the day. Good ol' 4:53pm...the final moments of work. Too soon to make my way up front, too soon to start anything else. So what do I do? Random internet stuff. So you've got the big tourni game tonight huh. I bet you guys win! I'll be there cheering in spirit. Wow, it just took me four tries to spell "spirit" right. It must be getting close to quittin' time. I just lied on the phone. I told a guy that Mike was gone, when Mike was still here, but just didn't want to talk to him. Okay, two minutes...ample time to shut-down and start making my way to the door...

Continue.

Have I really not written on here since 2006?!?! What's my deal?! I believe I'll continue posting here. Now that your blog is fully functioning, it kinda takes away the fun of commenting and not knowing if you'll ever see it. Of course, maybe you still won't, unless you check, or unless blogger tells you I wrote on here. That sounds too much like Facebook, which I'm completely annoyed with...which might explain why I haven't been on there in about 2 months. And see! The world still turns and I'm still breathing! Is it lunchtime yet?

They're testing the fire alarms right now...somewhat annoying. I keep trying to get them to have terrorist and earthquake drills, but no luck so far. What about raptor attack drills? I wonder what that would look like. They seemed to have a lot of luck going crawling in the ceiling on Jurassic Park...perhaps that would work here as well. I'll have to keep a stepstool handy by my desk.

What's the deal with this lame thing changing my name! I'm not anonymous! Well, I sort of am, but that's not the name I told them to use! Punks!

Jason Yarnell said...

Very nice. I don't know that I ever would've looked here.

girl said...

I shouldn't of told you, and then perhaps some day you would've looked and there would be 2,300,413 comments for you to enjoy.

I had forgotten all about your Attactix site! How cute, er, fun is that?! I liked the reviews of the figures with the little clipart stuff. I can't say "little" anything when I talk to my boss at work because he thinks I'm calling HIM little. He's about as tall as I am, maybe SLIGHTLY bigger. It's pretty funny, so I whip it out to annoy him sometimes. So do all your Attacktix sit in your box all lonely-like? That's kinda sad.

It's tea-time!

Cap'n's Log - Turkey Day

So you're in Turkey!!!! How fun is that?!? CRAZY fun, that's how much! Do you love it? Do you want to move there? Open a Dairy Queen there? Scratch that last idea, that's my dream...but a little further south. Have you given a shout-out to Turkey's southern neighbor?

Did you give a shout-out to Munich for me? Munich is pretty fun - bummer your layover wasn't longer. Steph & I went there with Corson on our walkabout through Europe. Oh, but be careful...they have nude parks. Yup, right there in the middle of everything...no signs, no warnings, you just stroll through the park and BAM! I shudder to think of it. At least they warn you at the beach! But I digress.

I'm drinking re-heated coffee that's REALLY strong. You know whta you HAVE to drink? Turkish coffee. Fantastic stuff! We drank it in Makedonja. But you don't like coffee, do you? Perhaps you could learn?

girl said...

Wow! That was a long one!

Jason Yarnell said...

I actually drink coffee every day. I've had some Turkish coffee, but not enough yet to form an opinion. After one day I've already had a ton of chai - it's different than Indians make it. I like them both.

No shot to the south yet, give me a little time!

girl said...

Coffee everyday? Hm. You didn't use to, did you? It's like I don't know you at all! Who are you?!

Oh, you also need to hum a few bars of "Istanbul (not Constantinople)" while you're there. I LOVE chai - Rachel's husband made it for me a couple times. And I AM Turkish, remember?

I must say I feel honored to be mentioned in your blog! A little misty-eyed I be.

Ugh, I have a call of the conference variety in about 20 minutes...guess I should get on that...

As you were.

girl said...

Oh by the way - I'm impressed you checked here! nice!

Jason Yarnell said...

For the record, I get emails when comments are added.

As far as you being a Turk goes, I completely understand why people say that now. You would completely blend in - guess that's a good reason to make a visit now!

I've had turkish coffee now, really it's just like a strong espresso with the grounds at the bottom of the cup.

I was at a high point in the city today, pointed my camera to the south and snapped a shot just for you. Unfortunately it was a bit foggy, so you can't see all the way to Syria. And I may have gotten you a gift :) You'll have to visit Maryville to find out.

girl said...

SYRIA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!! Oh it doesn't matter if it's snowing, raining, foggy...it's all the same when you're gazing towards the south! So how did it feel? Did you feel a connection? Probably so! I think the fog is a metaphor for Syria - something about not being able to fully see its wonderfulness unless you're actually standing on Syrian soil. Perhaps no one ever really sees Syria clearly. Oo! That was kinda deep! That's present enough for me! I'll have to send it to Steph too.

So really - I would blend in?! How fun is that! I shall have to make a trek out there and reconnect with my peeps.

I dig the Don Quixote guy - he seems like fun! I'm assuming he's out there because of Chernobyl? Perhaps against nuclear activity or trying to get aid for those affected by the fallout? Anyway, probably has some good stories to tell! And I do like the sword and shield - very Goliath-like!

A present?!?! Really?!?!? Don't worry, coming to Maryville to see you is present enough. Awww!!! That was kinda sweet! :-)

Peace out.

girl said...

So...do I ever get to see you again?

Jason Yarnell said...

You know there's an open invitation for you to come visit any time! I expected to see you at at least one of the weddings recently, sorry that didn't work out.

girl said...

I like how I check your blog for my messages. Does that make your blog my secretary? Perhaps. Open invite huh. So...open as in knockity-knock-knock on the door at say...3am? Open as in urban camping trip open? Open as in "Cap'n Yarnell's Camp-o-Ree" open? Are you giving me an invite carte blanche? I like it!

Yo G! So I was mowing this weekend and reminiscing about the times we had to mow the jungle of a backyard of the house next to BSU before we paved paradise and put up a parking lot. Wow, that was a long sentence! Good times though! Oh the clogged mowers! Oh the grassy knolls! Oh the cups of ice afterwards! Oh the fact that you probably don't remember!

Good times were had (and found!) in that house...Fun army stuff, body bags, Texas-shaped holes, stored furniture...

Ah sweet memory lane traipsing...

Jason Yarnell said...

I remember all of that except for the cups of ice. I think you owe my memory an apology.

girl said...

Impressive! I stand corrected. Cups of ice...yeah, we got ice from Bearcat Express, when there WAS a Bearcat Express. Sounds like a train...Take a ride on the Bearcat Express!! WHOOT WHOOT!!
